Frequently Asked Questions
Wedding Day Questions
What's the wedding dress code?
The wedding dress code is semi-formal or formal attire. This is what you might consider normal wedding wear for most weddings you may have attended. For men, suits, a shirt and tie/bowtie or similar are appropriate choices. Women can opt for cocktail dresses, gowns, skirt and suit sets or similar. Though we will technically be at summer camp, the wedding itself will be a traditional formal ceremony and reception. We greatly appreciate your support and understanding in dressing appropriately for this occasion.
Are kids invited?
To ensure that all guests can fully enjoy the celebration and have a mini-vacation, we kindly request that this event be an adults-only affair. We believe it will provide parents with an opportunity to relax and unwind, leaving behind their daily responsibilities for a short time.
Do I have a plus one?
If your invitation includes the phrase 'and guest' after your name, we have made arrangements for you to bring a guest. However, due to limited reception space, we regretfully cannot extend a plus one invitation to all guests. We encourage you to inform us if you have any specific requests or questions.
What is the parking situation at Camp Somerset?
Camp Somerset provides ample parking space for guests. Upon arrival, their staff will guide you to designated parking areas.
Can I just come up for the wedding?
Absolutely! We would be thrilled to have you join us for our wedding festivities, even if you're only able to attend the main event. Your presence on our special day means a lot to us, and we want to make sure you feel welcome to celebrate with us in whatever capacity works best for you.

We're excited to offer modern cabins with private bathrooms and electricity. Guests will stay in a cabin with their plus one or immediate family/friends only, ensuring privacy. For more information, please refer to our Camp Somerset Page.
If I stay at a hotel, can I still join in for camp activities?
If you choose to stay at a hotel, we would love for you to join in on the camp activities to the highest extent possible! While some specific experiences are reserved for paying Camp Somerset guests, we have planned various events that are open to all of our guests. You are more than welcome to attend the welcome dinner on Friday, join us for the wedding festivities on Saturday, and participate in any of the camp recreation events.
What if I don't want to stay at the camp?
While we encourage staying at Camp Somerset to fully immerse yourself in the experience, we understand the appeal of a hotel. We've provided local hotel recommendations on our website if needed. Do keep in mind that only camp guests have access to the included weekend brunches, but we'd still be excited if you joined us for the welcome dinner and wedding festivities.
Why did you rent out a summer camp for a wedding?
We understand it might sound unusual, but we wanted to create lasting memories and spend quality time with our loved ones. Inspired by amazing wedding experiences and couples wishing for more time, we decided to rent out a summer camp. Our goal is to extend the celebration beyond a few hours, bring everyone together, and create stronger connections.
What's the deal with meals?
For all Camp Somerset guests, we've got you covered! You'll enjoy a welcome dinner, brunch on Saturday, passed appetizers during cocktail hour, dinner on Saturday, and a farewell brunch on Sunday. Snacks will also be available. Non-Camp Somerset guests are invited to the welcome dinner and wedding festivities, including dinner on Saturday.
Are there water filling stations?
Yes! There are various filtered water stations throughout the camp. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated during your stay.
I'm staying at camp but have mobility concerns. How easy is it to get around?
No worries at all! Camp Somerset provides multiple golf carts to assist guests in getting around the property. We understand the importance of accessibility and will do our best to minimize the need for extensive walking. Please note any specific assistance requirements in our wedding RSVP form so we can ensure your comfort during your stay.
Can I bring my pet to camp?
We love our furry friends, but unfortunately not. We kindly ask that you make appropriate arrangements for your beloved pets during this time.
Can I bring outside alcohol to camp?
We have taken care of all the alcohol arrangements for the weekend, so there's no need to bring your own. We kindly request that all guests refrain from bringing their own alcoholic beverages to any of the wedding day activities. Our well-stocked bar will offer a wide range of options to suit everyone's tastes, ensuring a delightful and hassle-free experience for all. However, if you would like to bring something extra special for non-wedding related activities, feel free to do so.
